Chelsea walks up Oolah Valley in the central Brooks Range with her Osprey Ariel 75 backpack.
Chelsea: "A pack I've used before on a multi-day fieldwork trip where food weight loss was replaced and increased by rock samples collected over the course of the trip. I liked the Ariel 75 then and I liked it on Arguk.
Osprey Ariel series is the women's pack equivalent to the Aether. The Ariel/Aether are Osprey's tried-and-true lightweight backpacking/mountaineering pack. They are super versatile, which is mostly great, except that when you think about every ounce of weight on your back all day for days at a time, they might have a few too many frills. I never wanted to make the top pocket into a lumbar pack, nor did I ever need to use the front panel J-Zip to access the interior, and straps seem to constantly be everywhere on this pack. I didn't mind much, though, because I was always comfortable with this pack on, no matter the weight. And the Osprey All Mighty Guarantee might help me keep this pack for the rest of my life."
